organizations principal business interests are Hospitality, Healthcare, and
Commercial Real Estate Development.
The Project goal was to qualify for a LEED Silver building but they were short of the necessary points needed to qualify. Our solar domestic hot water project easily gave them enough points to qualify.
We were able to bring additional Delaware solar incentives to reduce the cost and speed the return of the capital cost. Delaware's Sustainable Energy Program can provide up to 50% of the cost of the project! The Federal Government's Solar Investment Tax Credit is 30%. In addition to this, depreciation of the project is available.
The Solar System was Commissioned April 11, 2017 and fully operational. The VA staff moved in and commenced a full schedule September 12, 2017.
The
solar hot water system is monitored 24 hours per day by a data logger
interfaced with the internet using Verizon’s Jetpack "hotspot”. The
data logger allows us to know how well the system performs and also lets us
know of any problems.The data logger records data every
5 minutes 24 hours per day and can be viewed from any computer or smart phone
on the internet from any location on the planet.
